The charm of the trench coat!

The charm of the trench coat!

Good evening! I hope you are well!

We have arrived for good now in this magical era, when the first coat we want to wear to face the first cool days and nights, wherever we go, is the trench coat.

This excellent, timeless outwear has written history and has been for 140 years in style and fashion.

But every season returns dynamically and refreshed.

I cannot lie about it; I love the trench coats. Short, long, classic, modern, black, white, beige, it is the ideal outwear for layering from autumn to spring. Over my favorite jackets, sweaters, cardigans, and suits give my style unparalleled charm while keeping me warm.

You can see some styles with a trench coat that I have published in Inspire your style – Trench coat and mules! and in On the wild side of a snake print pair of jeans…!

However, when I saw this long, beige, vintage trench coat in a store – I was told it was 35 years old, but it was in perfect condition – I could not resist.

The classic color, the design, the fabric, dressed with fantastic flannel lining and perfect seam in general, took me on a film noir with Marlene Dietrich as in “A Foreign Affair”.

And although it is pretty oversized on me, I bought it to make some modifications that would give it a renewed style but strongly keep the classic element.

I liked the oversized sleeves which I lift and hold close to the elbow with an elastic band. I also replaced the large pieces on the cuff with small brown leather belts that I borrowed from another of my coats.

I borrowed the brown leather belts from the same coat to replace the small, almost non-existent fabric belt that the original trench coat had, to give life and color to this long outwear, and emphasize my waist more.

Another element I did not like was the huge shoulder pads. These gave a geometric look to the style of the cloth, and I wanted to change that. So I cut them a lot, and in this way, I relaxed my shoulders enough to play more with the cloth and the style I wanted to give.

I believe that all these small changes gave another sensation to this vintage piece, made it more my own and close to my style, and renewed it without losing its charm.

The film noir and their stars, femme fatale women, are the ones who inspired me for today’s photoshoot that took place in my beautiful city just before dawn.

The fatal woman, standing at a distance, with her elegant silhouette erased in the semi-darkness.

The one that you cannot take her forever for granted, and that is irreconcilable and ready to leave if something does not go along with her wants and beliefs.

Who, she is both feminine and dynamic.

The one that if you meet her you cannot forget.

She is the fatal woman of today.
